With tapering double-edged blade, characteristic hilt encased in gilt metal chased with traditional scrollwork, openwork pommel decorated with scrollwork enriched with turquoise beads, in its wooden scabbard incorporating a large gilt-brass and silver openwork panel at the front, two further panels at each side and a broad locket at the top, all pierced with scrolls inhabited by mythical beasts enriched with further coloured hardstones.
