This Uchidashi jingasa in iron has shishi decoration, inlaid eyes of gilded copper, on a dragon chiselled and inlaid in hira bori of Shibuichi A three-leaved mon, or family crest, of Aoi, shows Tehen Kanamono forming kiku petals. The interior with incised decoration and inlaid with Shibuichi of hoo birds, butterflies and foliage.

A jingasa, or ‘camp hat,’ was a type worn by Japanese warriors when traveling or encamped.
