Such a spearhead would be mounted on an ash shaft some six feet in length or more, the lugs prevented excessive penetration. 

It was a thrusting, as opposed to a throwing weapon and could be used by either a mounted warrior or one on foot. 

DESCRIPTION
With blade of flattened diamond section with a lug or wing at either side of the base.
