DESCRIPTION
With blade of sharply tapering single-edged type, the hilt formed of a bone grip carved in two stages, the upper stage of diamond section, the lower turned in the form of a baluster moulding, engraved over its length with patterns of small circles and linear bands, fitted with brass disc guard with concave outer face and the greater portion of its original leather washer covering the inner face, flat octagonal pommel of two brass plates, the upper engraved with a stylised flower-head on a contrasting pounced ground and retained by an iron button, and in untouched excavated condition throughout.
