The 70th Winter Show to benefit East Side House

19 - 28 January 2024

The Winter Show is the premiere art, antiques, and design fair in America, featuring many of the world's top experts in the fine and decorative arts. The Fair was established in the mid-1950s as a benefit for East Side House Settlement and, by the end of that decade, had firmly established itself as the leading event of its kind in the United States. East Side House is a community-based organization serving the Bronx and Northern Manhattan; its programs focus on education and technology as gateways out of poverty and as the keys to economic opportunity. All ticket sales proceeds from the Show provide unrestricted funds for East Side House's life-changing programs.

The 70th edition of The Winter Show will be held in the historic Park Avenue Armory where a breadth of works spanning 5,000 years will be presented. Famed for its rigorous vetting practices carried out by a committee of 120 experts, the exhibition offers works of the highest standards of authenticity and quality.

The Winter Show 2023

20 - 29 January 2023

The Winter Show returns for its 69th edition, returning to at Park Avenue Armory in New York City on January 20 and running through January 29, 2023. The multidisciplinary show will feature curated exhibitions by more than 68 dealers presenting a dynamic mix of fine and decorative arts from around the world, dating from ancient times through the present day. The 2023 edition welcomes new exhibitors from Europe, South America, and the United States, expanding the show’s breadth of esteemed dealers and experts. The Winter Show is America’s leading, and longest-running, art, antiques, and design fair, established in 1954 by East Side House Settlement, a community-based organization serving the Bronx and Northern Manhattan. All ticket proceeds directly fund East Side House’s life-changing programs.

Frieze Master 2022

We are excited to participate in Frieze Masters 2022, which brings together six millennia of art – from rare antiquities, including Arms and Armour, Old Master paintings, and icons of the 20th century. Creating an unmissable destination where visitors can discover or acquire a piece of art history, the fair features over 130 of the world's leading galleries.

Returning from last year, Frieze Masters will feature the section Stand Out, curated by Luke Syson (Director of Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge) which will bring together art objects from across the ages that are great works of design, of sculptural and conceptual brilliance. Stand Out looks beyond hierarchical distinctions between works of art in different media, and in doing so reconsiders art objects often termed ‘decorative’ or ‘functional.’

The Winter Show/2022.. in Spring!

The Winter Show, postponed from January to April this year, is one of the leading art, antiques, and design fair in America. The Fair was established in the mid 1950s as a benefit for East Side House Settlement and, by the end of that decade, had firmly established itself as the leading event of its kind in the United States. Over the course of its 67 year history, the Fair has been held at the historic Park Avenue Armory all but three years. Peter Finer are honored to have participated in the Winter Show for almost 30 years. Come visit us at the fair this Spring, being held in the iconic former-Barney's New York building at 660 Madison Avenue.

Mythical Beast and Worldly Creatures

18 October - 5 November 2021

The exhibition, and accompanying catalogue Mythical Beasts & Worldly Creatures, focuses on representations of animals on arms and armour dating from the seventh century to the last decades of the 19th century. These works were purposeful as well as works of art, and are each decorated with imaginings of mythical, legendary and ‘real’ animals.

Frieze Masters

Welcome to our first IRL art fair in some time and our first appearance at Frieze Masters in The Regent's Park. The fair offers a unique contemporary perspective on thousands of years of art history, from collectible objects to significant masterpieces from the ancient era to the late 20th century. The 2021 edition of the fair showcases over 130 of the most significant galleries from around the world and again takes place in an elegant, contemporary environment designed by renowned architect Annabelle Selldorf, benefiting from natural light.

The European Fine Art Foundation, or TEFAF, whose fairs champion museum-quality art across collecting areas, is delighted to announce the launch of its new digital platform, TEFAF Online. This digital marketplace's inaugural fair gathers the majority of TEFAF's 283 exhibitors representing 7,000 years of art history. Each exhibitor will showcase a single 'masterpiece' work of art which represents their expertise. Context, images and videos explaining each work will be live on the platform, and an interactive component will enable collectors and exhibitors to engage with each other directly. Upholding TEFAF’s strict standards, every work presented at TEFAF Online, will have been vetted by TEFAF’s independent vetting committees.

Asian Art London 2020

Asian Art in London, founded in 1998, celebrates London as an international centre for the exhibition of Asian Art. A programme of events showcase Asian art from our participants - leading international Asian art dealers, auction houses and museums -  through a series of gallery exhibitions, auctions, receptions and lectures.

This year, the commencing 15 October, these will focus on Indian & Islamic Art, featuring a wide selection of new participants. Following on, from 29 October to 7 November, the focus moves east to China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.

Our Re-opening

The gallery is now in its second week since reopening June 22; thank you to everyone who has come to see us. We will remain open regular business hours through 10 July, and thereafter will be open by appointment until September 1.

To make the gallery as safe an environment as possible, we are limiting the number of visitors in the gallery at any one time, in addition to following other government guidelines. We therefore encourage you to book your visit in advance. Book your visit here.

For those currently unable to visit in person, our website has 50 items that are fresh-to-the-market, many that have not been seen on the art market for decades. Should you be looking for something specific, we may also send you a link to a new virtual private viewing space.
