The first of two rectangular panels that comprise this terminal is decorated with a spray of acanthus leaves. The flowering plant symbolized the resurrection of Christ and the concept of immortality in medieval Christendom. The right-hand panel is embellished by a single Gothic letter P. A relief animal mask and its extended tongue form the piece's loop.
